Electrik Glitter is based on biodegradable film made from trees, primarily eucalyptus, sourced from responsibly managed plantations.
Electrik Glitter requires the presence of microorganisms to degrade. Warm and wet conditions are ideal and higher concentrations of microbes will increase the rate of biodegradation. A good analogy is that a leaf in an arid environment will take longer to degrade than in a swamp.
Cosmetic Electrik Glitter is produced from a special biodegradable regenerated cellulose film which is derived from renewable raw materials, responsibly and environmentally sourced to PECF™ standards. It does not contain genetically modified materials or materials obtained from genetically modified organisms.
Antimony levels in Electrik Glitter are below the limits of detection, effectively zero. Whereas, cosmetic polyester glitter can have antimony levels as high as 150ppm. The antimony in polyester is a by-product of a catalyst used in the manufacture of polyester.
Electrik Glitter feels more comfortable on the skin.
Electrik Glitter is physically 30-40% softer than polyester glitter.
